The FIFA Confederations Cup, which pits continental champions against the holders and hosts of the FIFA World Cup™ hosts, is quickly establishing itself as one of the game's most exciting international tournaments.

Qualifiers

Eight nations will contest the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009. The starting field at the "Festival of Champions" comprises the six continental champions plus FIFA World Cup™ holders Italy and host nation South Africa.
